An Inconvenient Truth
I have something to teach you that may take away a great deal of your suffering that has been due to your awakening, which has resulted in you becoming a loving soul.
There are amongst mankind, three types of people and they are:
Those who still sleep in forgetfulness
Those who are awakening
Those who are awake
Each has a different perspective on what Truth is and therefore a different attitude towards others. The minority of mankind has been made up of those still sleeping in forgetfulness, and due to their attitude, they have been the ones that have strived for power and wealth, thereby becoming the dominant force that has led and controlled the destiny of mankind. I am not just referring to those who rule others for it includes everyone who believes that a person’s worth is measured by their material possessions and dominance over others.
Those who sleep in forgetfulness do so in innocence, as we all have done ourselves. They are as yet, spiritually unaware, and it is not right that those who are awakening condemn them, rather we should strive to understand, teach and set an example, so that we can begin to awaken them. Yes they will cause us hurt, but it will avoid a greater hurt in our future.
Those who are awakening are spiritually aware, yet are still spiritually immature, as if caught between an opposing army and a cliffs edge, not knowing that there is water below the cliff that will break their fall and lead them to a place of peace and love. It is the leap of faith that all must take. It is a place where those sleeping in forgetfulness are afraid to go, knowing that they cannot take the things they prize the most. It is the place within.
Those who are awake, look back in wonderment at how they could have been so blind and how others still are, and in their hearts, they cry “please awaken, end the hurt; choose love”.
When the soul begins to awaken, it finds itself subjected to the influences of:
Those who are still sleeping in forgetfulness
Those who are on their journey to full remembrance
Those who are fully awake
In its search, the awakening soul is called by many voices. Those who are still sleeping in forgetfulness or those who are still overly influenced by them, see the vulnerability of the awakening soul and seek to take advantage by deception for self gain, at the loss to the awakening soul. All souls have some blindness until they are fully awake. The soul that sleeps in forgetfulness sees only what it may gain from the world for itself and the competition.
The soul that is awakening looks around with confusion and is unable to understand the apparent madness in the world. It asks “how can people be so cruel, uncaring and heartless?”
In my enlightenment, I was taught the following and if you search with sincerity and honesty, you will find the truth of what I offer for your consideration. You may find that parts of this lesson are hard to accept as I did, but I ask you not to dismiss them out of hand. The test for all truth is in its questioning in an attempt to defeat it. If it still stands then it is worthy of belief and faith.
EVERYTHING THAT WE DO INTENTIONALLY IS DONE FOR THE SELF
Having been a loving soul all my life and always putting others first, I found this statement to be hurtful and insulting, indeed I always thought that selfishness was wrong, and not of love. I thought that it might be an idea acceptable to those still sleeping in forgetfulness, but certainly not for those awakening. I was wrong, let me show you why.
When the Originator (Creator, God) created all things, including souls, it was for whom? For itself of course, so that it may be known and not alone, so that it would have meaning and purpose for its existence.
Creation began because of selfishness, and if the Creator is all that is good and right, then we have a demonstration of the goodness of the right kind of selfishness. Are we not offered the greatest state of being, in exchange for our companionship and non opposition to the Creator’s way? Are we not created to become perfected in love so that we and our Creator may experience the fulfilment of all that is good and right (love)?
Everything that we do intentionally is done for a reward, or the hope of a reward. The reward may be derived from a choice to experience a measured amount of suffering in the present, for the reward of pleasure at a future time or, to avoid a greater suffering in the future.
Those who are not yet awakening, do not believe in life after death or a God, they therefore think that they must get as much pleasure out of life, regardless of other people’s feelings. They fear death but choose not to face it until they have no choice, and yet even these are compelled to abide by the laws of love at times, as in sacrificing their life for their children.
Those who are awakening fear death too due to their uncertainty. It is not difficult to see that these have been easily controlled by the fear of what comes after death. It has been the threat of great suffering in the after life that has resulted in the formation of many religious groups. These groups promise great pleasure in the after life, an ultimate reward for conformity, and an ultimate suffering for non-conformity, and because of fear, these things are accepted and passed on to others without proof of their validity. These religions claim to be good and right, and yet their fruits have been conflict, death and suffering, in fact, the very things that are not good and right. They have been the harnessing and misuse of the laws of life itself.
You may say that love is given without the need for reward. Well, first of all, those without empathy do nothing without self reward and those with empathy feel the hurt and joy of others, therefore they find reward in the joy of others, and when they act to take away or end another’s pain, they are seeking the reward of getting rid of their own hurt too.
In seeking love, people are seeking the greatest pleasure of all. There are only three states of feelings that a soul can experience, and all feelings fall within these states.
These are; suffering, peace and joy.
No-one chooses suffering unless it is for a greater reward for the self. Peace is chosen to end suffering, it has the joy of non-suffering for the self. Joy is strived for simply because of the pleasurable feeling, and this is where all conflict can arise from, when it is taken at a loss to others, a loss of other people’s pleasure.
Love is the way, it is the greatest state of pleasure and it is meant for all equally and it ends all suffering. When we all have love, there will be no need to seek pleasure at the cost of hurt to others.
Whatever you give, will return to you, let it not be suffering.
