Evolution - fact or faith?

The theory of evolution is no more than an atheistic attempt to defend the belief that there is nothing beyond the physical/material and that the Universe, and indeed life as it is today, has resulted because of an incredible amount of chance events.

On the other hand if we consider religious interpretations concerning an intelligent designer as the Creator of the Universe, and the life within it, we find an apparent assault on logic, reasoning and intelligence.

If we are to find the Truth, we must take a neutral position between the advocates of evolution and intelligent design. The fact of the matter is, that neither of the advocates have the courage to question what they believe in, for fear of being confronted with facts that challenge or oppose their personal beliefs.

In these circumstances, what we have is not a search for Truth, but the denial of its revelation. The defence of personal beliefs has become more important than proof of their validity and the cause of much conflict in the world. Without proof of a claim, there are only empty words, words that have no power except for the fear or hope that is embedded within them.

Let us continue to question beyond where both religious and atheist advocates would have us cease and through that questioning realise that there really is more to life than others would have us believe.

Questions concerning the Universe:

What existed before the Universe came into existence?

What caused the Universe to come into existence?

Why is there only perfect order in the Universe?

Why is the Universe under the control of unchangeable laws?

What came first, the laws or the Universe?

What caused and maintains those laws?

If everything in the Universe has come into existence because of a series of chance events, why has that series of chance events not continued to occur?

If the Universe is infinitely large, then doesn't that mean there is an infinitely small?

If the Universe is not infinite in size, then what is outside the Universe?

If there are many Universes, then what is the possibility that they experienced the same series of changes as ours, and resulted in the same order and life?

If other Universes exist outside our own, then how would we know if their laws are different?

When atoms are broken down into sub-atomic particles, why don't they reform into atoms in accordance with the laws that created them in the first place?

Questions concerning Life:

What advantage would be gained by atoms forming into single cell creatures? Or indeed plants?

When did awareness first come into existence?

For the first creatures, formed from single cells to move on to land, wouldn't they need to be aware of that land in the first place?

If all life evolved from the first single cells, then why did some evolve into plants and others into plant eaters?

Why do animals have awareness and not plants?

Why didn't all of the single cells evolve into land creatures?

If animals had to evolve to adapt to their environment, then why do so many different creatures occupy the same environment together?

Isn't the theory of 'natural selection' discredited by the survival of apes that apparently chose not to evolve?

Doesn't an evolved species see its un-evolved counterpart as a competitor for the resources in its environment? If so, why do apes remain in existence?  

If the apes environment was and still is, conducive to their survival why would they need to evolve into man?

Why is man, out of all the creatures on the earth, the most intelligent by far, and also at the same time in possession of a body that is most suited to take advantage of that intelligence?

Aren't the supposed links between the different species of man, just a result of the two species mating, and producing a crossbreed?

How many different species of man existed at the same time as Homo sapiens (our species)? Wouldn't this explain Genesis 6?

What is awareness?

Is it not the use of awareness that has evolved, rather than awareness itself (which is possessed by all sentient life)?
